XP PEN Deco 01.

Through the years I’ve gained experience using
different low-price drawing devices :
From XP PEN and another similar company.
From that I’ll give you information useful to make an informed decision about this device .
This is a simple drawing device.
The surface feels like it
is treated with a soft texture :
This produces a enjoyable friction and sound .
Not plastic on plastic.
Eventually I think this texture will ware away with time .
( Not speaking of the plastic shipping wrap which you’d peal away ).
A generous active drawing area :
The shape of the device itself is minimal :
Because it’s basically flat and rounded along the rim ;
it feels comfortable to rest my hands , wrists or arms over the edges.
The tablet is lightweight .
with a solid feel.
About Pen control :
Do in part to it’s large active area ;
this lends to accurate pen movements you see on screen .
The cursor will not moving erratically . Instead it is very steady precise control ; this subtle movement is welcome.
Because of that I now see the advantage of a larger active surface area .Therefor you wont be redrawing lines as much with this model .
There are 8 shortcut buttons ( hot keys ) ;
To use however you wish.
They work :
But their placement is too spread apart ;
I’m used to the position of keyboard keys .
The hotkeys are also basically even level with the surface ;
so you may have to look where you press at times .
Overall it being level with the surface is faithful to it’s minimalist aesthetic . And you simply may become accustom to their placements .
There is a different model called Deco 01 V2 .
Which looks similar ; but offers pen-tilt functionality :
If you have a software that makes use of Pen Tilt ,
you may try model V2 .
All similar New models of this kind ; moving forward will basically have in common many of things I mention in this review for the Deco 01 .
The Driver comes with three ( 3) basic pressure curve points :
Two points ; at either top and bottom move only along the horizontal . And one axis point which moves along both vertical and horizontal .
You need the driver installed for this to work.
I can use the Pro Driver ; it works with Deco 01

After the driver is installed – Press its Icon on the desktop or the one in Task Bar ; drop-down menu. This ensures the tablet functions fully and properly and Pressure sensor will work. You Must Press the driver before starting up Art Software .
The device itself offers 8,192 levels of pressure sensitivity.
I have four pens that I’v gained through the years from XP PEN.
All Different because They have their own unique in-built base pressure curve.
“” The stock pen has too low ; a pressure curve .
Meaning : You’ll have to press too hard ;Before the pen registers a mark to widen a line or color density .
That Only is a issue with some software . In SAI 2 this maybe a issue because it has basic pressure Sliders . But Not a problem for Clip Studio Paint Pro : because that has a Line Graph you can adjust for the pressure curve of the pen.

P01 Passive Stylus .
Deco 01 ; comes with one stylus ( pen ) ; and 8 nibs in the pen holder ; which opens with a twist .
Including the nib already in the pen , 9 nibs total .
This is my current device for my digital drawing or editing
. Comes with glove ; which might fit loose if you have small hands.
I was able to get $10 discount . I cant recall if it was automatically applied, or if I obtained it from their Main website.

They did not charge me until After I got the device.
So don’t be confused thinking you have money in your account.

The Pen that this model comes with has too low a pressure curve :
You have to press too hard to widen a line . Even with driver adjusted .
So get a few of these pens below at this Link here
to have a higher default curve :
Consider the : P01 Passive Stylus
